Reservation of Beds for the Academic Year 2018/19

Reservation of beds for the academic year 2018/19 will be launched according to the timetable on July 10th 2018 at 9 A.M. for foreign students, from August 1st for Czech and Slovak students.

Since there are large numbers of students to be expected within the first hours of reservations, there is a risk of system overload. For this reason, each student will receive information about the specific time since when it will be possible to log into the ISKAM application and make a reservation. Make sure you sign into the system as soon as possible after this time and reserve a bed, the time slot that you receive does not guarantee you a place in the queue.

As soon as the first wave of reservations is over, the system will be returned to normal and reservations will be dealt with continuously. The reservation can not be edited on the first booking day.

Reservation of Beds for the Academic Year 2018/19

First-year students may book a bed only after being enrolled in their studies as of August 1st 2018. Foreign students may book a bed as of July 10th 2018.

Reservation will be launched according to the timetable on August 1st 2018 at 9 A.M. in ISKAM

Accommodation contracts for Vinařská halls of residence, block A2, will only be valid until April 30th 2019 due to a planned reconstruction. It will be possible to extend the contract during February/March 2019 with regard to currently vacant beds.

The deposit payment is due within 10 days of the booking. If the deposit is not fully paid in time, the booking will be cancelled. For more information see the Instructions for the payment of deposits and rental.

Confirmation of providing the accommodation

Note for foreign students:  „Confirmation of providing the accommodation“ either for the purpose of granting a visa or prolonging it is to be written out only on the basis of a written application sent by e-mail at:  at least one week before your visit at OAMP or the Embassy of the Czech Republic in your country.  We send the confirmation by data box to relevant authorities only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays!!!!!!!!

Thus, ask for your confirmation in time!!!!!

Veveří canteen is closed as of May 28th until further notice

As part of the planned reconstruction of the MU Faculty of Law lecture halls, it was found that part of the building had structural degradation. As of May 29th, this part of the building will be closed. The cause of this structural degradation are aluminous cements which were used for the horizontal supporting structures on two floors of the building in the 1930s. The material was used until the 1950s, when it was found to have insufficient durability.

"We had to close off part of the building with four lecture halls and the canteen for security reasons. There is no imminent danger, but we do not want to risk the health of our students and employees," said Marta Valešová, the bursar.

The lecture halls, the reconstruction of which is scheduled for next summer, will be closed in the following year and the faculty will provide other premises for the lectures. Whether the canteen will have to be closed during the whole period will depend on how the reconstruction work will progress. "We will strive to solve the situation as efficiently and safely as possible," the bursar added.

The university will also have the rest of the building checked. "It is the first time that we have encountered the use of this material during the reconstruction of the historical buildings of Masaryk University," said Jan Brychta, Head of the Investment Department of the MU Rectorate.

Holiday accommodation at MU halls of residence

Holiday accommodation instructions for the year 2018 including the price list have been posted to the Documents section.

During summer holidays, accommodation is available at Vinařská, Kounicova, bří Žůrků and Klácelova halls of residence.

Reservation via ISKAM  will be possible 4th-24th June 2018. For reservations shorter than 8 days, please see the accommodation provider of the halls of residence of your choice. When reserving a room through ISKAM, the price for 8-31 days will be set automatically - the length of your stay may be then corrected when signing the contract with the accommodation provider.

You can book a bed in Vinařská, block A2, only in the period until 8th August. If you enter a longer period, there will be no beds available. In block A1, reservations can be made from August 10th. if you enter an earlier date of checking in, the system will not show any available beds.

After 24th June holiday accommodation can only be reserved at the accommodation manager of the corresponding halls of residence, or at the reception (short-term accommodation). Contact information can be found here.

Program for Improving the Quality of Accommodation

Dear students and applicants for accommodation at MU halls of residence,

I would like to inform you that we are currently preparing for the implementation of the program for improving the quality of accommodation at MU halls of residence.

The program involves providing wireless network at all the MU halls of residence. Another part of the program is the sale of the smallest and, during spring the least occupied, halls of residence in Lomená, Komárov. We are also preparing for a complete modernization of the A2 building in Vinařská and an extension of the university's capacity for the accommodation of students and employees in the desired location of the university campus in Bohunice. In Komárov, students of MU will be able to stay at Bří Žůrků and Sladkého halls. The funds obtained from the sale of Lomená will be invested in the aforementioned program and in improving the quality of accommodation at other MU halls. For the above-mentioned reasons, it will not be possible to book the Lomená halls for the new academic year 2018/2019. The implementation of the program will not reduce the number of beds offred to MU students.

MobilKredit - canteens in your mobile phone

Dear boarders,
Your boarding account can also be operated through MobilKredit application in your mobile phone. The application will provide you the possibility to see the currently available offer of meals in relevant canteens, order meals in advance, check the history of your account - everything right in your mobile phone. 

Instructions concerning the installation of the application can be found on  MobilKredit website.

The currently available offer of meals has newly been processed into WebKredit application.

Settlement of the deposit and dormitory fee

19th December 2017

The dormitory fee is to be paid in advance in the relevant month in accordance with the SUPO timetable (nevertheless, the money should be credited to the SUPO account on 10th day of the month).
When checking in throughout the month, the dormitory fee is due to 10th day from the check-in.

In addition to the dormitory fee, the accommodation deposit is to be paid too in the first month. The accommodation deposit is a cash advance for the last month according to the accommodation contract (the deposit will be automatically credited with the last month of the accommodation).

Extended Services in MU Canteens

Dear ladies and gentlemen, employees and students,
On the occasion of starting a new academic year, certain services have been extended:

- The Academic canteen on Moravské nám. will open a brand new "Vegan bar" where supporters of the raw food diet will have the opportunity to sample meals prepared by our chefs specially trained by experts under the auspices of the Czech Association of Cooks and Confectioners, of which we are members.

- Menus are available in the current menus section in WebKredit where you can access the English version by clicking on the English flag icon. Your account can also be managed using the MobilKredit application.

The menus also include the numbers of allergens in the meals according to the table in the current menus section.

- You will regularly be informed about gastronomical events of international cuisines which take place in individual canteens every month.

Municipal waste disposal fee

1st September 2017

From this year on, the obligation to pay the waste disposal fee applies newly also to all the foreigners staying in the area of Brno for more than 90 days. This local fee does not relate in any way to the payment for the accommodation. SKM has no futher information concerning the waste disposal fee. Putting the deposit into the boarding card

Dear customers,
in order to ensure a continuous distribution and sale in the MU canteens, please, use the possibility of the cashless transfer between the SUPO university system and Webkredit system when depositing money into your boarding card. More information and instructions can be found in section "Connecting SUPO-Kredit".

The deposit can also be put into the  boarding account in meal tickets. Certain meal tickets of different nominal values are accepted by cashiers. The withdrawal of cash from the account is limited by the amount of 100,- CZK. Higher amount can be withdrawed at the operation manager's office.
