Renovations at dormitories: New windows at Vinařská, new entrance at Bří. Žůrků

Masaryk University is planning to spend approximately CZK 422 million for renovations of its dormitories over the period of 2020–2025. “Since 2020 the new management of Accommodation and Catering Services (ACS) has been doing its best to improve the comfort of our accommodation facilities. Aside from the renovation budget we have allocated resources for emergency and ad hoc repair and maintenance or wall painting,” says ACS director Kamil Kulíšek.

Six dormitories appoint new council members

Six out of eight dormitories operated by MU’s Accommodation and Catering Services (ACS) have new councils, following the regular autumn elections. After a long period of time when some facilities did not have a functioning council, all three buildings of the Vinařská dormitory appointed their councils, as did dormitories at Mánesova, Klácelova, Veveří and náměstí Míru.

Broken appliances? Report them online

Whether you are first-year students or you are coming back to your dormitories after the summer break you must check in within five days of the commencement of your reservation. Should you fail to show up without a written excuse, your contract of accommodation will be invalidated and you will lose your deposit.

Dormitory councils: much needed assistance and own ideas brought to life

Preferential treatment in applying for dormitories or advance information on the operation of the dormitories and canteens; those are just two of the benefits of membership in dormitory councils. The Accommodation and Catering Services (ACS) will announce new elections within days of the start of the new academic year.
