Dorm reservations to be launched on 7 May

All current residents at MU dormitories are entitled to priority reservations of their current bed in the first round of reservations. The online procedure is scheduled to be launched on 7 May. Any student in a full-time programme with no more than one extra year of study can apply. The subsequent waves of reservations will apply to students returning from programmes abroad, foreign students and, ultimately, first-year students.

Once a reservation has been made the student must electronically sign the contract of accommodation and pay the deposit amounting to the sum of CZK 2,000 and thirty daily rates. The deposit is due within five days of the reservation.

Students tried first meal from recipe contest

One of the winners of a recent student contest for the best vegetarian or vegan dishes found its way to canteen patrons in late February. Students could order saffron risotto with zucchini submitted by Ema Fukasová from the Faculty of Medicine. The contest was organised by the Canteens Board of Masaryk University last June. Other two winning recipes – red lentil dhal with coconut milk and basmati rice and curry goulash with baked vegetables and steamed rice – will be available in the second half of March. The frequency of these dishes on the menu will be based on the number of portions sold.
