New pipes and windows: Vinařská dormitory sees a lot of action

The Accommodation and Catering Services (ACS) aims to improve the comfort of its residents, and will continue to do so in the final weeks of the academic year and during the summer. Apart from regular summertime maintenance several scheduled reconstruction projects have started. Currently in progress at the Vinařská dormitory is window replacement combined with façade repair and insulation. Building A1 at Vinařská will see in summer the commencement of the reconstruction of the ascending piping technology.

Summertime dormitories: Bří. Žůrků and Mánesova

Two dormitories– Bří. Žůrků in Komárov and Mánesova in Královo Pole – will remain open to ensure the 2025 summertime operations for MU students. The overall capacity of 842 exceeds quite comfortably the standard demand seen over recent years. Current residents started filing their applications on 2 June.

Reservations of beds for next year underway

The first round of reservations of dormitories for the 2025/2026 academic year is well underway for the current residents. From the first day (which was 5 May) a total of 1,654 students have submitted their applications. The second round of reservations is available to students returning from their programmes abroad.

Students can improve menus in canteens

MU´s Canteens Board has announced a student competition in vegetarian and vegan recipes. Students can send their recipes to 62934@muni.cz, with the deadline being the end of September. The authors of the ten best dishes will receive university merch as a prize. The Masaryk University canteens can include students recipes on their menus from the next academic year.
