Pricelist of accommodation valid from 1st February 2024
Dear students,
We would like to inform you that, effective 1 February 2024, only the inflation clause pursuant to the regulation of the Czech Statistical Office will apply to the existing accommodation contracts.
The inflation clause is a standard part of all accommodation contracts for students staying in dormitories. The clause is applied on a regular basis to set off the loss in the value of money.
According to the Czech Statistical Office average annual rate of inflation for 2023 amounted to 10,7 %. The new price list of accommodation for the 2023/2024 academic year valid as of 1 February 2024 reflects the aforementioned inflation only. The prices of energy and utilities will not apply to the prices, even though, as of 1 January 2024, VAT in the sector of accommodation services increased from 10 % to 12 %.
Despite the increasing prices MU shall bear the increasing costs and overheads and it shall continue to attempt to reduce operating costs, in order to make the challenging situation easier for its students.
