Soup will be separated from the menu, its price will remain 85 CZK, and the soup offer will be expanded to include new types, including meat-based options.

The rent in 2026 will only reflect the inflation rate according to the data published by the Czech Statistical Office.

These are the main investments of Masaryk University over the past year, implemented through the Accommodation and Catering Services (ACS MU), which continuously takes care of the maintenance of all nine of its dormitory complexes.

25 Sep 2025 Canteens sustainably: discounted offer before closing time Masaryk University canteens are coming up with a new initiative to combat food waste. Every day before the end of the opening hours, MU students will be able to purchase selected meals at a discounted price.
25 Sep 2025 Students can now spend their free time in the canteen at Poříčí Since the new academic year, the canteen at the Faculty of Education has been offering students the opportunity to make new use of the space on the ground floor and on the first floor. Following the reconstruction during summer which included the construction of a glass wall the canteen is now fully accessible to students after opening hours.

MUNI Canteens Introduce New Anti-Food-Waste Measure Starting August 25, 2025, Masaryk University canteens will offer a 20% discount on selected meals during the last 20 minutes of daily service. The goal is to reduce food waste and minimize biowaste. The discount applies to soups and selected lunch dishes still available for serving.

20 Nov 2024 Passion is a must in cooking, says MU canteens’ chef Petr Klimeš Petr Klimeš has seen everything. Having tried all cuisines the world has to offer; having learned the ropes in the kitchens of famous chefs in Germany and France; and having tried the snake, zebra or bison, he has joined four years ago the team at the Accommodation and Catering Services (ACS) as the coordinator of catering. He can rely on his 45 years of experience which includes two famous hotels in Brno (International and Voroněž).

19 Dec 2025 Bed reservations: all categories of students are considered Guaranteed beds for current residents, beds allocated for students returning from Erasmus programmes, foreign students and ultimately first-year students: this is the order of reservations to be applied for the reservations of beds for the 2026/2027 academic year, as approved on 27 November by MU’s Accommodation Board.
