New rules for students infected with COVID-19

11 Jan 2022 Kamil Kulíšek

Dear students,

due to the increasing numbers of accommodated students with COVID disease, I must now accept that not every accommodated student will be accommodated in a hotel room in isolation in case of illness. So far, we have accommodated everyone without distinction of the country of permanent residence, although there was no entitlement to this isolation. The university has an obligation to provide isolation only to students with visa requirements and others must provide isolation themselves at the place of residence. At their meeting, the MU emergency staff decided that from January 11th, 2022 if the resident students tested positive for covid-19, they would quarantine the B&B hotel as follows:

  1. Foreign students with visa requirements.
  2. Erasmus students with a longer commuting distance from residence only if there is a vacancy.

Other students mainly from the Czech Republic and Slovakia in case of a positive test, they will leave the dormitory and go home or provide isolation themselves outside the MU buildings.

Students will be allowed to return to their dormitory after 7 calendar days in accordance with government regulations.

We are sorry for the inconvenience
