Summertime dormitories: Bří. Žůrků and Mánesova
Two dormitories – Bří. Žůrků in Komárov and Mánesova in Královo Pole – will remain open to ensure the 2025 summertime operations for MU students.
As the risk of flooding in Brno has diminished, the Masaryk University Security Emergency Board decided today that students who had been evacuated from the Bratří Žůrků and Sladkého dormitories in Brno-Komárov as a precautionary measure can now return. About 500 students received an email from MU on Tuesday afternoon, in Czech or English, informing them that they could return to their rooms from that time until Thursday noon at the latest.
All dormitory buildings are safe, inspected and repaired, and students can count on full electricity and water supplies. It has also been decided that those who have not yet had the opportunity will be able to move into their dormitory accommodation from Friday morning, 20 September.

The first round of reservations of dormitories for the 2025/2026 academic year is well underway for the current residents. From the first day (which was 5 May) a total of 1,654 students have submitted their applications.
